Delegation visits museum

TAXILA, Jan 8: An 11-member delegation consisting scholars, archaeologists, anthropologists and researchers from different countries on Sunday visited archaeological museum Taxila and the nearby Buddhist sites.

These experts came here from Islamabad where they were attending a conference on “Archaeology and cultural heritage in Pakistan and adjacent regions”.

The delegates visited the city to explore the ancient archaeological treasurer of the Gandhara civilisation. They took round of the museum, Sirkap, the second city of Taxila and Dharmarajika stupa and monastery.

Curator of the museum Nasir Khan briefed the delegation about the history of Gandhara civilisation, various stupas, statues and other artifacts. — Correspondent
