Buddhism and meditation inform the Vancouver-based artist’s floral and landscape paintings. The sensual works give way to the qualities of the paint rather than focus on the perfect shape of a rose or peony. Recalling the moody works of Romantic-era Dutch masters, Harrison’s rich paintings are freer, more poetic and intuitive, allowing viewers to project themselves into the work.
Opens Nov. 1, 2-4 p.m; to Dec. 2 | Winsor Gallery
