Tibetan Buddhist monks offer teachings on the Oregon Coast

The internationally acclaimed Gaden Shartse Monastery Sacred Earth and Healing Arts of Tibet Tour is coming to the Oregon Coast June 25 through June 29.

Six Tibetan Buddhist Monks from the historic Gaden Shartse Norling Monastery in Mundgod, Karnataka, India will offer teachings, healings and an evening of sacred music and dance.

Oregon Coast Tour dates are:

Wednesday, June 25: Public teaching on “The Four Noble Truths,” at the Thomas Goodwin Gallery, 34395 Hwy 101 S. Cloverdale, OR, 6-8 p.m., doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The Four Noble Truths are suffering, the causes of suffering, the end of suffering, and the path to freedom. Meditations on patience and compassion are part of this teaching.

Thursday, June 26: Public teaching on “World Peace and the Unity of all Religions,” at Unity By the Sea Church, 7040 Gleneden Beach Loop, Gleneden Beach, OR, 6-8 p.m., doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Three days at the Newport Intermediate School, 825 NE 7th St, Newport, OR, June 27, 28 and 29. Thank you to Chinook Winds Casino Resort for their sponsorship of the teachings held at Newport Intermediate School June 27 – 29.

Friday, June 27: Public teaching on “Death, Bardo and Rebirth,” 7-9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 28: An evening of sacred music and dance with a multimedia presentation, 7-9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 29: Public teaching on “Karma: Cause and Effect,” 6-8 p.m., doors open 5:30 p.m.

Suggested donation for all public teachings is $15. Suggested donation for music, dance and multi-media performance $20.

All proceeds benefit Gaden Shartse Cultural Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping the exiled Gaden Shartse Monastery in southern India and preserving Tibetan culture.
